Men’s U20s 56 – University of Galway 0

On Wednesday evening, Galwegians U20s produced a sensational display of rugby to seal their place Leinster Premier 2, overcoming University of Galway U20s with a commanding 56–0 victory.

From the outset, the Blues set the tone with high intensity, sharp handling, and clinical finishing. Their dominance up front provided a perfect platform for the backs to showcase their speed and precision, as try after try flowed in front of an enthusiastic Wegian support.

Captain Luke Cass led from the front in an inspirational performance. His work rate, leadership, and physicality around the park epitomised everything that was outstanding about Wegians on the night. Fittingly, Cass was named Man of the Match, capping a memorable evening both personally and for his teammates.

University battled bravely throughout, but they were simply unable to match the relentless pace and power of the Wegians side, who refused to take their foot off the pedal until the final whistle.

The emphatic result not only underlined Galwegians’ quality but also confirmed their promotion to Premier 2. Attention now turns to the opening round of the league, where Wegians will travel to Greystones on Sunday, 13th October, looking to carry this momentum into the campaign ahead.
