U14 Black 0 – Buccaneers 19

It was the Blacks  against Division 1 favourites Buccaneers on Sunday at Galwegians. Buccaneers used their strength and skill to run in an early try , however the Blacks rebounded and played some excellent rugby, however a lovely chip over the top which was touched down by no 10 Dara Counihan was ruled out by the referee.

Wegians maintained a solid defence for the rest of the half and it remained 5: 0 at the break. After the restart new recruit Kiaran O’Dowd on the wing ran the full length of the pitch and stopped just inches from the line on his Wegians debut.

There were some outstanding performances from many Wegians players including scrum half Luca Danjou , hooker Evan Cunningham, John Gibbs and centre Ben o Dwyer .  it was not to be for Galwegians against this physcially larger side who managed 2 more tries towards the end of the half leaving it 19:0  at  the end .
