Match Report
Last Saturday our U16 Boys played their final League match away to Monivea. Monivea being the only team to get one over on the lads since October 2024 this was a chance to set things straight & at the same time ensure that the boys would definitely be the ones taking the League Trophy home.
It was a strong start from both teams in ideal weather conditions. Monivea would be the first to register some points with a well worked team try & successful conversion putting them 7-0 up after six minutes.
What followed was a very physical affair with plenty of drama & both teams being reduced to 14 players within the first 20 minutes. Galwegians answered every question that was asked by the opposition after conceding an early score. The boys would dominate every aspect of the game running in seven tries & converting all but one while Monivea wouldn`t cross the line again after securing their one and only early on.
Tries on the day from Sean Deely (2), Conall Mullarkey, Dara McGrath, Mark Allnutt, Oisin Parker & Siaosi Fifita.
U16`s Cup Quarter Final is scheduled for March 21st and the boys will have the home advantage. All support will be very welcome.
