Match Report
A game of two halves as last seasons Cup finalists clashed again.
A fast start for Corinthians saw them lead 5-0 early on, before Aidan Crowe scored and Colin Counihan converted saw us lead 7-5. A second unconverted try from the visitors had then ahead 10-7 at half time.
Corinthians once again started fast and scored their third try to lead 15-7 after five minutes of the second half.
Our heads never went down and some big carries from Hugh Gavin and Eoghan Harlowe before Ben McHugh went over for our second try, once again converted from the boot of Counihan. 15-14.
Corinthians pushed hard from here and with the aid of wind, pinned us in our own 22 for long periods. But, we finished strongest and a second try from Aidan Crowe (converted by Harry Walsh) saw us lead into the final 10 minutes.
Then after some hard work from the pack, the ball was spread wide on the halfway line and Big Conor Cooke took no prisoners as he blasted his way through the Corinthians defence to put the icing on the cake for Wegians (converted by Colin Counihan).
Some big performances on the day from Aidan Crowe, Ben McHugh but Hugh Gavin and Eoghan Harlowe were equally outstanding and deserved to share Man of the Match on the day.
