Match Report

Ballina kicked off the game, and we gathered and after a scintillating set of moves down the right wing, Harry Lynch scored in the corner. Within another 3 minutes, Hernando Calleja scored another try.

Our lads kept the pressure on all the first half, and even though we received a yellow card, we ran in 4 more unanswered tried. Two by Callum Brown and two more by Harry Lynch, who was on fire. At half time we were 34-0.

We started off the second half in the same mindset, in your face defending and a blitzkrieg of an attack. Ballina piled on the pressure mid way through the second half when we had two players off with yellow cards, but the thin blue line held. Four more tries in the second half, one each by George Ukwuoma, Harry Lynch, Shay McGovern and Callum Brown.

Magnificent team efforts and some individual brilliance produced all these tries. Robert McHugh converted five of the tries.
Ballina finally managed to cross the line 7 minutes from time.  An excellent display from the team with all the hard work training and playing through out the season finally reaping the benefits of a plate final win with some style.
