NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special General Meeting of the Club will be held virtually on Tuesday, 4th August 2026 at 7.00pm for the purpose of considering and, if thought fit, passing the resolution set out below.

Details of how to join the virtual meeting will be circulated separately to all Members in advance of the meeting.

SHORT NOTICE

At the Annual General Meeting of the Club held on Thursday, 18th June 2026, the Members unanimously passed a motion approving short notice of 48 hours for this Special General Meeting. Accordingly, this Notice is issued on short notice pursuant to, and in accordance with, that unanimous motion and Article 44 of the Club’s Constitution.

RESOLUTION

To consider and, if thought fit, to pass the following resolution. In accordance with Article 76 of the Club’s Constitution, this resolution requires the approval of a two-thirds majority of the Members present and voting:

“That the bid submitted by the Company, as approved by the Board of Management, for the purchase of the lands and house situate at Bushy Park, Galway, be and is hereby approved.”

Notes

  1. A Member entitled to attend and vote at this meeting is entitled to appoint a proxy (who need not be a Member of the Club) to attend, speak and vote in his or her place using the form of proxy accompanying this Notice.
  2. Given the short notice period approved for this meeting, the instrument appointing a proxy should be completed and emailed to the Director of Administration as soon as possible, and in any event no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday, 4th August 2026 (the day of the meeting).
  3. Only Members who have paid their subscription in accordance with the Constitution and are otherwise entitled to vote will be entitled to vote at this meeting.
  4. As the proposed expenditure exceeds €60,000, the resolution requires the approval of not less than two-thirds of the Members present and voting, in accordance with Article 76 of the Constitution.
